What are dental porcelain veneers?
"Similar to a covering place on nails, veneers are a thin (usually less than 1 mm) of porcelain material that are bonded on top of front teeth. Depending on condition being treated, some reduction on the tooth structure may be needed."
 
Can a porcelain veneer be done without shaving the tooth?
"Yes! If tooth is small, has diastemas (gaps between teeth) or just slight misalignments, a porcelain dental veneer can be fabricated without shaving any tooth structure."
 
When are teeth shaved for porcelain veneer? 
"If tooth is broken, has a filling, discolored or there is gum recession, then the tooth will need to be shaved down to give the porcelain material more thickness to properly cover the tooth underneath of it."

Do veneers stain like natural teeth?
"Porcelain veneers will never stain as material is polished and non-porous. Composite veneers will stain over time. During dental cleanings, teeth are polished to remove staining from them. Composite veneers sometimes will need to be replaced after a few years due to staining, but usually just the top layer of it."

How do I take care of my veneers?
"Veneers are bonded to the tooth structure. They can be brushed and flossed normally. Avoid biting into hard objects or opening items with them. A night guard is also recommended to be worn regularly."

Are cosmetic dental treatments covered by insurance?
